Dr. Sibuh Gebeyaw is the current chairman of WDA board of directors. He has more than 10 years of experience in leadership at different provincial and regional government organizations. Currently, he is also the Chief Administrator of Wag Himra zone. Dr. Sibuh has a PhD in Political Science and International Relations at Bahir University, Ethiopia.
Dr. Melsew Tefera is member of WDA board of directors. He served as WDA board chairman from 2020-2022. He holds PhD in Policy and Leadership from Addis Ababa University. He has more than 20 years of working experience at different capacities, particularly, in the education sector. Dr. Melsew is an assistant professor at Wollo University, Ethiopia.
Mihretu Molla is member of WDA board of directors. He holds MA in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from Kalu Institute, Spain. Mihertu has more than 25 years of working experience particularly in the areas of agriculture, food security, and nutrition in governmental and international NGOs. Currently, he is the Field Office Operation Manager at Save the Children International, Sekota, Ethiopia.
Tesfahun Gobezay is a member of WDA board of directors. He has over 15 years of working experience in research analysis that fed into devising national policies and strategies, particularly, pertaining to international relations. Tesfahun got his MA in Transformational Leadership and Change from the University of Greenwich. Currently, he is the Director General of Refugees and Returnees Services, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Negash Mekuanintie is a member of WDA board of directors. Negas has a work experience spanning more than 23 years in the areas of banking and justice. He got his Diploma in Accounting from Admass University. Negash has retired from public services very recently, and is engaged in personal business services in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Mitiku Beyene is a founding member of WDA and was a chief administrator of Wag Himra zone by the time WDA was established. He has been the chairman of WDA board of directors at different cycles. Mitiku obtained his MA in Urban Management and Development from the Erasmus Univesity Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He has extensive experience of serving the public sector in Wag Himra at different capacities, and the private sector as executive (e.g., Ambasel Trading, TIRET Corporate) and board member (e.g., Africa Insurance, Abay Insurance, Kobel Industry) of several big corporations in Ethiopia. Currently, he is the deputy head of Amhara Region Industry and Investment Bureau in Addis Ababa.
Mesud Adem is a member of WDA board of directors.
Fentaytu Kassie joined WDA board of directors in August 2022. She has more than 15 years of experience in the public service.Mrs. Fantaytu obtained her MBA from Wollo University. She is the current House Speaker of Wag Himra Zonal Council.
Gashaw Adane is a member of WDA board of directors.
Getu Birhanu is a member of WDA board of directors. Getu is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years in the construction business in and around Wag Himra. Getu is responsible for WDA’s engagement with and resource mobilization from the local private businesses.
Dr. Amsalu Woldie joined WDA board of directors in August 2022. He is an economist whose professional experience spans between academic research and teaching in Europe and Ethiopia. He is particularly involved in developing and promoting WDA’s partnership with diaspora, academic, and international organizations.
All chief administrators of the districts in Wag Himra are also members of WDA Board of Directors.
