Our partner Interkerkelijke Stichting Ethiopië/Eritrea (ISEE), based in The Netherlands, supported the rehabilitation effort of Chila Primary School in Dehana woreda. Chila Primary School is one of the school facilities highly damaged due the armed conflicts in northern Ethiopia. Thanks to the 711,833.72 ETB donation from ISEE, the Wag Development Association (WDA) was able to distribute combined student desks (140 desks) and office materials (5 tables, 10 chairs, 1 desktop PC, and 1 printer).
During the handing over ceremony, Seifu Moges (Head, Wag Himra Education Office) and Mulaw Demsie (Deputy Executive Director of WDA) thanked the generous support from ISEE. They also appealed for other local and international NGOs to follow a similar step and help the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the education sector in Wag Himra.
The handing over ceremony was attended by several stakeholders representing Wag Development Association, zonal and district government offices, and the local community.
The Wag Development Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to ISEE and its collaborators. WDA sincerely hopes that ISEE and collaborators will continue to support the rehabilitation and sustainable development endeavours in and around Wag Himra.
